Have you ever felt as though something was missing in your life? Have you ever asked, “How can I find deeper meaning? How can I find peace of mind?” Have you ever wondered, “Is there anything more to life than getting up in the morning and going to work every day and coming home and eating supper and watching television and going to bed, getting up and doing the same thing the next day and the next? Is there anything more to life than the humdrum of the daily routine?”

There's more to life, and that is certain, Than breakfast and the iron curtain. I added that to rhyme, although It is long gone, and that I know, Because the folks around complain Les nouveaux russes, with ill-got gain, Are buying up the property For summer houses in a spree. The way that politics and war Go nowadays, I do deplore. It is enough to drive a man To faith in God, or Christ, or plan. Of course, I am a doubting Thomas And cynical of any promise. The world may end or not, but I Continue in my plot and sigh That I write such poor poe-try.
